If you are thinking of making a family getaway to the Andalusian capital, surely you will come very well these ideas on what to see in Seville with children.

As we already advance in our previous article, Seville has been chosen, according to the prestigious travel guide Lonely Planet, as the best tourist destination. Besides being one of the most tourist cities in Spain, it is perfectly communicated by plane, car or train with the rest of the peninsula and offers a thousand and one charms capable of making any traveler fall in love. If you are thinking of taking a family trip, in Eva Recommends we advise you the best activities to enjoy Seville with children.

1. Visit to two of the most emblematic architectural monuments of the city: the highest Gothic cathedral and the wonderful Giralda.

Did you know that the Cathedral of Seville is the largest Gothic cathedral in the world? Its construction dates from 1401, in the land that was left after the demolition of the Aljama Mosque, ending in 1506. The only remains of the mosque that are preserved today are the Giralda and the orange trees in the interior courtyard.

Who said that learning was boring? Now you can share the fascinating story of the discovery of America with the youngest of the family, since inside the Cathedral is the tomb of Christopher Columbus guarded by centuries of history waiting to be told to future generations.

Once you have covered the entire ground floor of the Cathedral, we advise you to go up to La Giralda, from where you can contemplate the spectacular panoramic views of the city. Both you and your children will be amazed to discover that the ramps were built wide enough to be able to climb on horseback and thus be able to call the citizens of Seville to prayer. It is impossible to believe that a horse could climb to the highest part of the minaret, right?

Finally, if you or your children are lovers of citrus aromas, do not go without teaching them the Patio de los Naranjos located inside the Cathedral.

2. The majestic architecture of the Alcazar

The old palaces look like the perfect setting for the story of The Thousand and One Nights. Both children and adults will get on the time machine to move to another time where they will be conquered, in a matter of minutes, by the colors and the fantastic mix of styles (Islamic, Mudejar, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque) present in the Real Alcázar and that make it a unique place. We are convinced that both you and your family will be surprised to see the magnificent architecture of the Baths of Doña María Padilla, located inside the palace.

The Moors were the authors of its construction more than two thousand years ago but later the Christians were in charge of making the first reforms after the capture of the city in the thirteenth century. Undoubtedly, for lovers of history and architecture, this tourist attraction is worth a visit.

And the little ones in the house who love astronomy will not want to leave the planetarium, where they will be left with their mouths open after seeing different projections. We advise you to take a look at its programming because every month there are different workshops and courses where you can have fun learning.

4. Cruise on the Guadalquivir

The Guadalquivir River has a length of more than 700 kilometers and crosses the entire Andalusian community, connecting the city with the Atlantic Ocean.
